PROMOTING EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES

“As I navigate my own journey in the sports industry, I am determined to leave a lasting legacy that champions empowerment and inclusion. My mission is to promote equal opportunities and support for female athletes, coaches, and professionals, as well as to create a more inclusive and diverse sporting environment.“

EMPOWERING WOMEN IN SPORT

“The Success of Coach Connect highlights the importance of initiatives that empower and uplift women in sports. By creating spaces for mentorship, skill development, and camaraderie, we can continue to dismantle barriers and promote a more diverse and inclusive environment within the industry. Through collaborative efforts, we can help women not only succeed, but also become role models for future generations.”

BALANCING CAREER ASPIRATIONS

“Navigating the tennis coaching industry as a mother of three presents unique challenges in a sector that is historically male. To balance my career aspirations with the demands of motherhood, I have had to forge my own path, often deviating from the traditional expectations and norms within the industry. By creating space for myself as a working mother, I hope to contribute to a more inclusive and supportive environment for others who face similar challenges. The shift towards flexible work post COVID-19 has helped address barriers that prevent women from pursuing careers while balancing family responsibilities.”

INSPIRATIONAL EXAMPLES

“My Grandpa Joe was my first tennis coach, who introduced me to the sport I love and helped me develop into an international player. His early influence was instrumental in laying the foundation for my career in sports. Carol Fox’s expertise and dedication to promoting women in sports have greatly influenced my approach to leadership and advocacy. The guidance and support from Ruth Holdaway, MBE, have been essential in helping me navigate the challenges of establishing a successful business and furthering my career. These individuals have all contributed to my growth as an athlete and professional, and I am grateful for their invaluable contributions to my journey.”
