NADINE BLANCHARD

“Anything is possible when you know what you want to do, and give yourself the means to achieve it”

Meet Nadine Blanchard, a 5-year member of the Swiss weightlifting team turned coach. She is an advocate for promoting more women powerlifters, while studying for her Master's degree in sports management.

INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENTS

“By fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, men can help create more opportunities for women in sports and contribute to a more equitable and diverse sporting landscape.”

DETERMINATION IS KEY

“Hard work is the bedrock of sporting success, particularly in weightlifting, where determination is key. In general, women athletes share an unwavering determination and a clear vision of their goals, ready to overcome any challenge to achieve excellence. For me, anything is possible when you know what you want and you give yourself the means to achieve it.”

WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP

“It is essential that women also aspire to be in leadership positions in the sports industry in order to change norms and make equality a normality rather than an applauded exception. By taking on decision-making roles, women can influence the policies, investments and practices that foster an inclusive and equitable environment for athletes and sport professionals.“

INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION

“I hope to inspire girls and women to realise their physical potential by encouraging them to get involved in sports like weightlifting. I want to pass on the message that they have the ability to become coaches and sources of inspiration for others, demonstrating that there is plenty of room for women in this field.”
