CLARENCE PEREZ DIAZ

“Leadership gives representation and it is important for women's sport and women working in sport to see that they are represented at the very top level.”

INSPIRATION

“I am constantly inspired by my current colleagues and friends who are trying to make changes and strive for excellence in their respective areas”

AN INSPIRING SPORTING EXPERIENCE

“I attended the Final of the Women's Euros in 2022. Being a part of the 80,000 spectators watching a women's football game was amazing. Sarina Wiegman is a great example of a coach that has done extremely well in the football world. She has brought a new type of leadership that is compassionate, attentive and shows authority. You can see that players respect her and play for her, and she also gives recognition to those around her, for example the second coach.”

WHO HAS CHAMPIONED YOUR STORY

“Dr. Juan Carlos de La Cruz was the sports doctor of my volleyball team. He is a tenured lecturer at the University of Granada and lectured me during my sports science degree. He was also the Director of my PhD thesis and now is part of the Healthy Sports Organisations team. He has been there from the beginning of my journey as a professional athlete and sports manager. He has supported me and has been an excellent resource and sounding board.”

SUPPORTING WOMEN

Men and women in top positions have an important role in treating women as equals and supporting them. When they do this, it is nice to recognise these actions and embrace their efforts”
