THE IMPORTANCE OF MENTORSHIP
“My campus coach, Carolyne Ajowi, saw potential in me that I hadn't fully recognised in myself, identifying my strengths and pushing me to develop them further. Her belief in my abilities gave me the confidence to pursue opportunities I might have otherwise hesitated to take. Through her mentorship, I gained not only the skills needed to excel as an athlete but also the resilience and leadership qualities that have been essential in my professional career. Her guidance was instrumental in shaping who I am today, both on and off the field.”
THE IMPACT OF SPORT COACHES
“Coaches and team leaders support athletes' mental well-being by offering encouragement and creating a positive team environment. They can promote open communication and set a good example with healthy habits. They also monitor for signs of stress and address any mental health concerns while balancing performance with well-being.”
