Meet Diana Yonah, sports management professional, passionate about developing football at grassroots level across Africa. Dedicated to promoting women’s football, sportsmanship, teamwork and skill development.

A FUTURE REFLECTING DIVERSITY

“My vision is for storytelling to not only inspire and empower individuals but also to advocate for systemic change, leading to a future where sports truly reflect the diversity and inclusivity of our society.”

CHALLENGING STEREOTYPES

“By sharing diverse and inclusive narratives of women in sports, storytelling allows for a deeper understanding of their experiences, challenges, and achievements. Through these narratives, stereotypes can be challenged and dismantled, paving the way for more accurate and representative media coverage. Additionally, storytelling has the potential to humanise women athletes, shifting the focus from traditional biases to their individual stories and accomplishments, ultimately fostering greater respect and appreciation for women in sports.”

SHIFTING FROM TRADITIONAL BIASES

“Storytelling has the potential to humanise women athletes, shifting the focus from traditional biases to their individual stories and accomplishments, ultimately fostering greater respect and appreciation for women in sports.”

A STORY TO CHAMPION

“The one story that I will continue to champion is the one regarding the women menstrual cycle and its relation to the game and how to play it.”
