“Women are going from backstage to the front stage of the game in every area of sport. We are breaking barriers and achieving in the spaces that were ours to be achieved. It is time to celebrate and encourage more women to shine and take the places they deserve.”
Meet Valeria Sorrentino, an event leader who has worked events from the Olympic Games, World Cup, Music Festivals, and Film Festivals. INSPIRING A NEW GENERATION
“I had the privilege of organising the FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand six months after delivering the FIFA Men's World Cup in Qatar. Watching the women's team with girls as young as 16 years old prepare for this event so far away from their own countries, showcasing to the world their quality on the pitch, with sold-out matches and with the full support of the crowds was as inspiring as it can get. I hope they inspired a full new generation of women in sport to shine!”
BARRIERS ARE THERE TO BE BROKEN
“Barriers are there to be broken and I hope we can build a sports world that is more equal and fair in all aspects. Hopefully, it will not be news anymore when a women's sports game breaks records in ticketing sales, or when the price paid is equal. That should be the norm.”
